PRESS RELEASE

ELECTRIC WORD PLC

Electric Word acquire school management publishing list
from The Stationery Office

Electric Word plc, the professional education publisher, has acquired the school management publishing business of The Stationery Office for a nominal sum. The business comprises three subscription newsletters, seven published and several soon-to-be-published books and four reports. All will be merged into Optimus Publishing, Electric Word's schools management division. The deal is an assets only transaction. No Stationery Office staff are transferring to Electric Word and the deal does not involve Electric Word in any other significant liability.

Ed Tranham, Electric Word Director, commented that "This is a significant and high-quality addition to our rapidly-growing schools management portfolio. The list of published and forthcoming books will accelerate our development of new products and complement our existing range of titles including subscription based newsletters."

The company also reported that trading remains in line with expectations. In the current environment its focus on subscriptions in niche professional markets continues to provide solid foundations for future growth.
